Decom North Sea (DNS), the representative body for the offshore decommissioning industry, has announced plans for its annual flagship conference, Decom Offshore.

Set against a $30 per barrel backdrop, “Decommissioning – Reality, Preparation and Action in a low price oil environment” takes place on May 25, at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Center, and will address the reality of decommissioning activity in a mature basin context, where investment has yet to be confirmed.

A full program will be issued in April and bookings are now open and sponsorship/exhibition opportunities available.  As history dictates that the event will sell out to an audience of over 270 delegates,  Karen Seath, intern chief executive has a clear message for those involved in – or with a strategic aim to be involved in - the sector: “With each passing month, the strategic value of decommissioning in the North Sea continues to climb. Over the past 18 months, record attendance at our events has clearly reflected this.

“I fully expect Decom Offshore 2016 to emulate last year’s event as regards to selling out even more quickly than before. This is an excellent forum for learning about - and networking within - the decommissioning sector. The opportunity to hear from the industry’s experts and strategic bodies at this crucial stage cannot be missed.”

In addition to a program of highly relevant information sessions, Decom Offshore will also showcase market insight and data – invaluable to businesses working hard to set decommissioning in the current industry context. Add to this a choice of interactive sessions, focusing on an array of topical issues, and Decom Offshore becomes much more than a traditional conference.

The event is also host to approximately 30 exhibitors, all of whom will showcase a vast selection of innovative technologies and solutions – tangibly bringing the next phase of decommissioning to life.

Vikki Thom, Subsea Business Manager for Bibby Offshore has experience of the event from both exhibitor and delegate perspectives: “Exhibiting at Decom Offshore is an effective and cost-efficient way in which Bibby Offshore can engage with industry experts and decision makers across the decommissioning sector.

“The conference consistently offers a highly-focused agenda, covering a wide range of relevant topics. Coupled with the exhibition, the conference program and associated networking opportunities come together to provide an unrivalled forum where stakeholder engagement across the supply chain, knowledge sharing and relationship building take center stage.”
