Data shows that Russia's LNG exports in 2024 will increase by 3%.
LSEG's preliminary data on Saturday showed that Russia's LNG exports increased by 3% to 32 million metric tonnes in 2024, with about half of it going to Europe.
China, the largest Russian importer, imported more than 7 millions tons of super-cool gas.
In Europe, the Russian LNG exports were mainly delivered to France this year, who imported more than 5,6 million tons of LNG. Then comes Belgium and Spain.
According to data, the total Russian LNG supply in December was stable compared to November at around 2.9 millions tons.
Novatek's Yamal LNG plant increased its exports by 5.4% on an annual basis to 19,6 million tons in 2024.
In December, the plant's shipments increased by 4.2% compared to November 2024, reaching 1.73 million tonnes, but decreased by 9% compared to December 2023.
Yamal LNG's supplies to Europe have increased by 1,4%, to 14,2 million tonnes in 2024.
Arctic LNG 2, sanctioned by the U.S. Department of the Treasury has shipped six cargoes ever since it began exports in August.
According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Novatek halted commercial operations on the only train operational in its Arctic LNG 2 Project last October and has no plans to restart the project during the winter.
Sakhalin-2 (controlled by Gazprom) exported 9.9 millions tons of goods from the Pacific Island in 2024. This is a 2% decrease from 2023. (Reporting and writing by Oksana Kobieva; editing by Guy Faulconbridge).
