Brazil's oil Company Output rises to 464,538 B/D

Brazilian oil company Óleo and Gás Participações SA, formerly known as OGX, said on Monday that its oil production increased to 464,538 barrels a day in March.

The bankrupt company controlled by Brazilian tycoon Eike Batista said in a securities filing that 324,472 barrels a day came from Tubarão Martelo oil field and 140,067 barrels a day from Tubarão Azul field, which is still in the testing stage.

Óleo e Gás said it extended until May 19 the deadline for sister company shipbuilder and leaser OSX to conduct tests in Tubarão Azul.

The company changed its name after filing for bankruptcy protection in October. OSX, which is also seeking bankruptcy protection, is entirely reliant on OGX for revenue.

OGX shares have lost 99 percent of their value since 2010 and are no longer a component of Brazil's Bovespa index. In February, the company presented a plan to a Rio de Janeiro judge to restructure and cede control to creditors owed $5.8 billion.
