Alberta Premier: Nexen Pipeline Leak 'Very Troubling'

Posted by July 17, 2015

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley said on Friday the pipeline leak at Nexen Energy's Long Lake oil sands facility in northern Alberta was "very troubling."

Notley, who on Friday finalised a Canadian energy strategy with other provincial leaders, also said the leak did not shake the conclusion that pipelines are the safest way to move hydrocarbon products.

Nexen is a wholly owned subsidiary of China's CNOOC Ltd. (CEO)
