May 26, 2016

Global integrated drilling waste management and environmental services firm, TWMA, has won the Company & Contractor Partnership Award at this year’s ADNOC HSE Awards, in partnership with Abu Dhabi-based petroleum services company ESNAAD- PJS.

The category recognises an outstanding partnership in the implementation of HSE and was awarded to TWMA in recognition of its integrated drilling waste management services on all four of the ZADCO artificial islands.

Winners were announced at a prestigious awards ceremony on Wednesday 18 May at The St. Regis Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

General Manager Abu Dhabi, Robbie Pond, said: “We are delighted to have won this award which is testament to the hard work and commitment of the team in Abu Dhabi. At TWMA, HSE is central to all we do, so it is a fantastic achievement to be recognised for our integrated drilling waste management service on the ZADCO artificial islands. We recently reached 500,000 Lost Time Incident (LTI) free man hours on this project which is a significant milestone for the team and testimony to our continued commitment to a strong safety culture.

“The aim of this project was to commission and operate an advanced solids control and fluid recovery system to handle and treat drill cuttings on the ZADCO artificial islands, which was the first of its kind in the UAE. We have built and maintained a strong relationship with ESNAAD over the past four years, and being chosen to support this project is a reflection of our ability to provide innovative and cost effective solutions.“

ESNAAD’s Business Development Dept. Manager, Mr. Mohamad Kamal Abdallah, commented: “As an ADNOC Group Company, ESNAAD follows the ADNOC Code of Practice and this award is testimony to the effective and efficient cooperation between ESNAAD and TWMA in delivering a world class service and operational excellence in the oil and gas industry, in line with ADNOC’s vision. ESNAAD and TWMA jointly deserve this recognition for their strong commitment to HSE.”

Since TWMA won the North and South ZADCO island contracts in 2013, the company’s Abu Dhabi branch has grown significantly and now employs more than 200 members of staff in the region following the subsequent contract wins for the Central and West islands.

TWMA’s Group HSE Manager, Brian Scott said: ‘We are delighted the team in Abu Dhabi have adopted our focus on HSE and transferred it directly to their operations in the region. Maintaining the highest of HSE standards throughout such a rapid growth period was very important to us.’

Since its inception in 1997, the HSE Award program has honoured the achievements of ADNOC Group Companies staff and contractors, whilst promoting HSE amongst all employees.
